George C. Rennles, Jr., of Gloucester City; Longtime Resident of Bellmawr, Borough Employee and Volunteer Fireman

Gloucester City – Formerly of Bellmawr. On Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022, passed peacefully at home
surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of 23 years to Maryann (nee Flagg) Rennles. Beloved son of the late George C. Rennles, Sr. and Bertha (nee Canavan) Rennles. Cherished father of Melinda (Joel) Williams, Donald (Barbara) Johnson, Jeffrey (Sarah) Johnson and Zachary (Camille) Bardos. Loving grandfather of Chase, Callie, Sadie, Dylan, Brody and Alec. Dear sister of Joyce (Harry) Wilson, Sharon (Dave) Richards. Predeceased by his extended family: Winnie and Joe Cipriani, Frank and Gerry Flagg, Bob Olsen and Sue Flagg. Surviving extended family: Joan and Jim Kerrigan, John Flagg and Theresa Olsen. Dear Friends Joe Ciano and Tony Valente. Also, survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
George was born in Camden, NJ. He was hired in September 1975 as an operator for the Bellmawr Sewer Authority and worked 46 years with the Borough of Bellmawr retiring as Water / Sewer Superintendent in March 2021. George served the following positions while employed in Bellmawr: Emergency Management Coordinator and Safety Coordinator. He was a volunteer firefighter in Bellmawr. George was a major contributor as a volunteer for Bellmawr’s Haunted Hayride and Christmas in the Park.
George’s family was his true pride and joy. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker, tubing, walks, western shows, camping and playing Zelda. George would give people nicknames and was a practical jokester. He enjoyed making walking sticks for people. George will surely be missed by many!
Relatives, friends, current and retired co-workers from Bellmawr Water / Sewer Department are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Friday, December 30, 2022 from 1 pm to 4 pm at McCann-Healey Funeral Home: 851 Monmouth Street, Gloucester City, NJ 08030. Catholic Service 4 pm in the funeral home. Cremation is private at the request of the family.
