(The Center Square) – New Jersey is taking steps to tighten gun control laws in response to a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling, but the move is facing a new legal challenge. Last week, Gov. Phil Murphy signed a bill that will prevent licensed firearm owners from carrying guns in at least 25 "sensitive places" like government buildings, libraries, public transportation and day care centers. It would also restrict firearm carrying on private property when the owner does not allow them. source https://themanofearth.medium.com/ Murphy said the new restrictions come in response to the Supreme Court's decision in the N.Y. State Rifle and Pistol Association v. Bruen case, which struck down a New York law requiring applicants to show “proper cause” to get a permit to carry a firearm. Bill Donohue | Catholic League President Max Fennell says white people owe him money. Why? Because he is black and blacks were enslaved a long time ago by white people. Has that hurt him? Apparently not. He is an affluent 35-year-old businessman, entrepreneur, and former professional triathlete. But he wants the money. He also wants land. Fennell testified last week before a California reparations task force. He said every black person in the state should get $350,000. He wants additional funding for businessmen like himself: black-owned businesses should receive grants of $250,000 and 15-20 acres of land. Here is what he told the panel. “It’s a debt that’s owed, we worked for free...we’re not asking—we’re telling you.” We worked for free? Fennell never worked for free a day in his life. Yet that doesn’t stop him from hustling whitey. And let’s face it—whitey is ridden with guilt, making him a...

Report: New Jersey had the largest pre-pandemic revenue gap(The Center Square) – New Jersey was one of a handful of states that started the pandemic with a structural deficit, according to a new report. Of those states, New Jersey had the largest gap between revenues and annual bills from 2006 and 2020, taking in enough to cover just 91.9% of its expenses, the smallest percentage of any state, according to the report. After New Jersey, Illinois had the largest deficit, with aggregate revenue able to cover only 93.9% of aggregate expenses. New Jersey and Illinois were the only two states with total shortfalls exceeding 5% of total expenses, Pew said, and the only...

Commercial Yard Waste Sites Available Statewide for Convenient Drop-off After the holidays, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control encourages Delawareans to keep their real Christmas trees out of the state’s landfills by recycling them at any of the many yard waste recycling sites located throughout the state. Tree mulch is great for helping conserve and enhance First State soil by sequestering carbon that both fertilizes the soil and helps it retain moisture. Christmas tree recycling also saves valuable space in Delaware’s landfills. More than 176,000 tons of yard waste – which includes grass, leaves, brush, trees (Christmas trees prominent among them) and other lawn/landscape materials – was recycled in 2021. Prior to Delaware’s yard waste ban, many of these materials – considered reusable resources – were sent to landfills, taking up space rather than being handled through local markets for mulch and home composting. Residents have the option...
