WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! Gloucester High Lions 2022 City Champions

Thanksgiving Day brought beautiful weather, large crowds and the local Lions (9-3) a City Championship. The Lions pounded the Rams (5-5) in a game that saw more penalty flags on the field then players, 35-0.

Early in the first quarter Lions #8 John Daily returned a Rams interception 47 yards for a quick touchdown.  Then with time running out in the first half,  Lions #2 receiver Leo Curran went 20 yards for a are fought TD.  The Lions left the field at halftime leading 21 - 0. Then forced a running clock when they punched 14 more points in the 3rd quarter taking 35 point lead. (A running clock is when team takes a 35 point lead during the second half.
