Gloucester City Officers Honored for Rescue of a Woman

GLOUCESTER CITY Detective/Sgt. Carl DePoder (left) and Officer John Bryszewski Jr., along with Officer Sean Gartland (not shown) were honored at the NJ State PBA Valor Awards Ceremony for saving the life of a woman who drove her car off of Freedom Pier, King, and Cumberland Streets, into the Delaware River on April 28, 2022.
During the water rescue, three Good Samaritans helped load the female onto their boat and transported the female and officers to the floating dock of the North Wind Schooner. Those smaritans included Michael Natrin (Oxford, PA), Stratis Tiniakos (Egg Harbor Township, NJ), and Gene Blemmings (Deptford, NJ).
