Tuesday: Justice system impacted youth and families, mental health experts address the crisis at Philadelphia Juvenile Justice Services Center

Speakers will directly confront Thursday’s announcement of the consideration of extraordinary and harmful measures, such as sending youth to Texas and housing them in adult jail.

PHILADELPHIA, PA (November 14, 2022)— In the wake of egregious conditions and harm to children at the Juvenile Justice Services Center, followed by a bad court decision paving the way to send Philadelphia children to the facility to Texas, multiple advocacy organizations, youth, and family members will hold a press conference outside the facility. Young people, advocates, and family members will discuss the crisis and share insights for policymakers toward healthier and safer pathways for youth and communities - solutions that do not involve sending them over a thousand miles from their families and loved ones.
