Maressa Center for MS Wellness Program Dedicated at Special Event
Monday, October 24, 2022
The expansion and relocation of Maressa Center for MS Wellness at Jefferson Health – New Jersey was celebrated recently at a special event in Voorhees. The Maressa Center offers free comprehensive in-person and online sessions to enhance the quality of life for those living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Funded by the Maressa family, the Center has offered unique experiences and education since 2019 for people living with MS and their care partners. The Center recently relocated to Voorhees from Cherry Hill, and a special dedication event was held.
The Maressa Center for MS Wellness aims to help those with MS increase mobility, improve mental health, and reduce pain through services that include acupuncture, art therapy, cooking demos, informational lectures, and massages. Jefferson Health – New Jersey’s specially trained clinicians and our guest speakers foster a caring, supportive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation. The Maressa Center for MS Wellness is the brainchild of Jefferson Health – New Jersey Board Member Joseph A. Maressa, whose younger brother, Dr. Julian Maressa, was diagnosed with the condition several years ago. In addition to providing holistic services for those with MS, the program also fosters a sense of community among its participants, said Joseph Maressa, who presented a $75,000 check at the event to support the growth and programs offered by the Center.
