The Gloucester Township Police Department Telecommunicator, or Dispatcher, is often the unsung professional of the emergency response team. Unlike local police departments who use County Telecommunicators, the Gloucester Township Telecommunicators work jointly with our police officers right on-site in our headquarters' updated Community Policing and Emergency Dispatch Center.
Under close supervision, the trainee receives and responds to telephone or other electronic requests for emergency assistance, including law enforcement, fire, medical, or other emergency services and/or dispatches appropriate units to response sites; does other related duties as required.
Salary: $19.65 per hour (starting rate), Gloucester Township Residents Preferred, 12 hour shift assignments- hours vary between day, night, weekends, and holidays.
BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION WILL BE CONDUCTED- Applicant must pass a criminal background check and maintain such security clearance throughout employment.
