Sunday, October 16, 2022
GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (October 16, 2022)--Dr. Edward Poole, Class of 1963, and his wife MaryJo are genuinely grateful to give back to the current generation of Ram students!
On September 29, Poole visited the school and met with the current four students who are recipients of his scholarships provided through the Ed and MaryJo Poole Scholars Program. He shared his time attending the school and the journey that led him to this point in his life. And he made it clear that his journey through Gloucester Catholic helped set a positive life path for himself and his family.
The doctor practiced ophthalmic surgery in Bucks County, PA, and served on the staff at Wills Eye Hospital. Poole, who has an airline transport pilot license, graduated from Rutgers University Medical School in 1971 after completing post-doctoral fellowships in internal medicine, neurology, and ophthalmology. He and his wife, MaryJo, reside in Yardley, PA.
At the end of his visit, Poole met with Principal Tom Iacovone, Jr. and members of the Development Office. He was impressed by what he saw and heard and committed to establishing his 2nd Scholars Program with increased annual funding!
"MaryJo and I are honored to have the opportunity to assist these four students in acquiring a Gloucester Catholic education," said Dr. Poole. "A Gloucester Catholic education made a positive personal impact in our lives, and we are honored to continue our scholars' program in the coming years."
Gloucester Catholic is so grateful to have committed alumni like Dr. Poole. They are willing to give back to the school to allow a Gloucester Catholic education to become a reality for many of our families!
