Former Gloucester City K-9 Handler Michael Calzonetti named School Resource Officer

 

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (August 24, 2022)(CNBNewsnet)--The Gloucester City Police Department released the following prepared statement today pertaining  to the appointment of a school resource officer to the Gloucester City Middle School.

We are pleased to announce that the Gloucester City Police Department and the Gloucester City School District have agreed to assign a school resource officer to the Gloucester City Middle School. Chief Brian Morrell and Superintendent Sean Gorman selected Officer Michael Calzonetti as the school resource officer. Officer Calzonetti has been with the Gloucester City Police Department for 8 years. He was previously assigned as a patrol officer and a K-9 handler. He is actively engaged with the youth of the community. Prior to his career as a police officer, he was a teacher’s aide at the Alice Costello Elementary School in Brooklawn, and he earned a Teaching Certificate from Rutgers University Alternate Route Program.

Special Law Enforcement Officer III Brian Green, who was previously assigned to the Gloucester City Middle School, will be assigned to Cold Springs Elementary School.

The Gloucester City Police Department is dedicated to the safety of our schools, and we are excited to continue our partnership with the Gloucester City School District.
