Camden City, N.J.- August is NATIONAL DOG MONTH, and the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office recognizes its two canine team members, K9 Ace and K9 Rookie, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay.
K9 Ace is a male black Labrador Retriever. K9 Ace joined the CCPO team in May 2019 when he was three years old. K9 Ace attended the New Jersey Police K9 Association Narcotics Scent Detection Academy and completed the 10-week course in August 2019. K9 Ace serves in the CCPO Narcotics Unit and he is a single purpose police K9 who is trained in narcotics detection. K9 Ace is partnered with Sgt. Michael DeGregorio of the CCPO.
K9 Rookie is a male black Labrador Retriever. K9 Rookie joined the CCPO team in March 2022 when he was 9-months-old. K9 Rookie attended the New Jersey State Police K9 Academy and completed the 14-week course in June 2022. K9 Rookie serves in the CCPO Narcotics Unit and assists the CCPO High Tech Crimes Unit and he is a single purpose police K9 who is trained on electronic storage detection (ESD). K9 Rookie is one of only three ESD K9s serving in New Jersey. K9 Rookie is partnered with Det. William Heron of the CCPO.
