American Legion Baseball: Brooklawn Post 72 Defeated by Allentown for Second Year in a Row

WOOD RIDGE NJ (August 6, 2022)(CNBNewsnet)--For the second year in a row the Brooklawn American Legion Post 72 Red baseball team was knocked out of the state tournament by Allentown American Legion. The NJ American Legion State Screen Shot 2022-08-06 at 11.32.09 Championship game was played July 28 game at the Wood Ridge Athletics Complex. The final score was 2-0.

Following the game, Allentown baseball manager Sahil Thakur told the Trentonian Times that he and his players had a plan and they stayed "with that strategy" throughout the game. 

Brooklawn has dominated the State Legion Championship tournament for decades winning 30 state titles.

Allentown moved on to play in the Mid -  Atlantic Regional Tournament (Region 2) in Morgantown, West Virginia. The tournament began on Wednesday, August 3 and will wrap up on Sunday, August 7. 

Friday, ATown won Game 9  beating Wilmington Post 1, DE - 5-2.  

ATown rides a CG gem from to stay alive in the Regional tournament with a 5-2 win. Strauch with a massive 3 run HR to give us a lead in the 7th. ATown is back in action tomorrow. (August 5, 2022)
They will play today, Saturday at 4:00 against the loser of Game 11 - Chesapeake Post 280, VA .
