Love Hodge, 29, of Palmyra, New Jersey, is charged with Impersonating a Public Servant and Burglary, with additional charges pending.

On Saturday, July 23, 2022, Maple Shade Police were dispatched to Sunflower Path for reported past tense, suspicious persons. The victim reported that on July 21st an unknown female came to her residence reporting to be an employee with the New Jersey Department of Child Protection and Permanency. The female did not provide any identification or business card from the Department of Child Protection and Permanency and was only concerned with the victim’s five-month-old daughter and not the other child in residence. The female left location and the victim did not think any suspicious of the incident but was then shown a social media post that depicted the same female posing as a DCP&P worker in another town and contacted police.

Further investigation revealed that Hodge had committed the same act in Mount Holly, N.J. on July 21, 2022 and in Camden N.J. on July 22, 2022. Hodge also attempted the impersonation on two other residences in the Fox Meadow Apartment Complex on July 21. All the residences that Hodge visited had infant female children.

Hodge was arrested on Thursday July 28, 2022 and committed to the Burlington County Jail on the Maple Shade charges.

The Maple Shade Police Department reminds you that if someone comes to your residence claiming to be a public servant and they are not recognizable that you have the right to request identification and if still not satisfied contact your local police department.
