Joe was born in the Bronx, New York to Antonia and the late Orlando, Sr. Joe served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. After retirement in 2007, he embarked on his next adventure as an AFJROTC Aerospace Science Instructor.  Joe truly thrived at mentoring young adolescents to always see their potential and encouraged them to raise the bar.

Joe’s love for his wife and children was evident in everything he did. Joe and Brenda took their daily walk, enjoyed their weekend morning coffee before the kids got up, and he was always up for a dance around the kitchen. Joe’s sons, JC, Tyler, and Ryan are notably his greatest accomplishment. Joe could be found on a field cheering on his sons, Tyler and Ryan.  He was, and always will be, their biggest fan.  Joe’s oldest son, JC, was the apple of his eye and he always shared how proud he was of him and was looking forward to JC’s next chapter.  It was always the five of them and their bond is unbreakable.

If you truly knew Joe, you knew that he was a diehard, and at times, a verrrrryyyy animated NY sports fan.  He was quick with a stat or recommendation for the coach! Boone needs to go! Traveling to MLB parks around the country and collecting memorabilia were favorite past times. Roberto Clemente was his all time favorite player.

Joe made friends everywhere he went and earned the respect of so many of his peers. Joe was a giving, caring, and selfless soul. Smart and a perfectionist, almost to a fault. Joe was very meticulous and would describe himself as occasionally being “stubborn.”  He was a practical joker with a generous heart of gold, never hesitating to help people out. Because he was a big kid at heart, his nephews adored him along with the children of his close friends. He was known for his friendliness and never hesitated to let people know that he loved them.

Joe loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Joe is at rest with his father, Orlando, and father-in-law, Jerry.
