Eight Rowan Women Lacrosse Players Named to IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll

NORTHBOROUGH, MA – Eight members of the Rowan women’s lacrosse team – Julianna Corson, Jamie Cutrera, Michaela Donnelly, Lauren Ferriola, Gianna Rusk, Erin Scioli, Rachael Sepcic and Shelby Tanner – have been named to the 2022 IWLCA Division III Academic Honor Roll. In addition, the Profs’ team was named an IWLCA Academic Honor squad. 

 

The Profs were among 977 student-athletes from 183 different institutions who are juniors, seniors or graduate students who have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater. The Profs were one of 295 schools across all divisions that posted a 3.2 or higher team GPA for the academic year. 

 

Corson (Hainesport, NJ/Rancocas Valley), a senior health & physical education major, earned Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction recognition for the third year in a row. She received All-NJAC Honorable Mention this year after posting a personal best 34 goals and 18 assists. 

 

Cutrera (Haddon Twp., NJ/Haddon Twp.), a junior elementary, interdisciplinary and inclusive education major, received NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention this year while also being named a Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction. The midfielder totaled a career-best 27 goals and 10 assists on the season. 

 

A biochemistry/chemistry major, Donnelly (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) earned NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention and was selected as a Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction for the second time.The junior played in 14 games and notched five goals and three assists on the year. 

 

Ferriola (Berlin, NJ/Eastern), who received her degree in exercise science, is a repeat selection to the IWLCA Honor Roll and earned NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention and Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction for the second time this year. She was a starter in all 18 games and totaled 16 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. 

 

Rusk (Westmont, NJ/Haddon Twp.), who graduated with a degree in exercise science, received Rowan’s Joy Solomen Award, while also earning NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention and Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction recognition. A two-time IWLCA Honor Roll selection, she was an All-Region performer this year on defense and was named the College Co-Player of the Year by the Women’s Lacrosse Club of South Jersey. 

 

Scioli (Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape), a junior psychology major, earned NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention for the second time in her career and her second selection to the Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction list. She started all 18 games on defensive and posted career-highs in groundballs with 13 and caused turnovers with 11. 

 

Sepcic (Robbinsville, NJ/Robbinsville) graduated with a degree in marketing and garners a spot on the IWLCA Honor Roll for the second time while receiving NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention and Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction recognition. She saw action in 13 games this season for the Profs. 

 

A junior exercise science major, Tanner (Perrineville, NJ/Allentown) received NJAC All-Academic Honorable Mention for the second straight year. She played in six games this year and received her third consecutive selection to the Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction list.
