RICHMOND, VA – Greg Cann, Joe Rucci and Kevin Yanagisawa from the Rowan men’s swimming & diving team have been named to the 2021-22 Scholar All-American Team as chosen by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) .
The award recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and were invited to compete at their respective national championships.
Cann (Woodbury Hts., NJ/Gloucester Catholic) graduated with a degree in psychology and was named a Rowan Scholar-Athlete in 2021-22. He earned All-NJAC Second Team honors in the 200 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay, while being named to the First Team in the 400 medley relay
A junior law & justice major, Rucci (Sewell, NJ/Gateway) is a two-time Rowan Scholar-Athlete of Distinction.
He was selected to the All-Conference Second Team in the 200 fly and was an All-NJAC Third Team honoree as part of the Profs’ 200 individual medley relay.
Yanagisawa (Woodbridge, CT/Amity Regional), who earned his degree in biomedical engineering, earns CSCAA Scholar-All-America honors for the fourth time, having received honorable mention his previous three years.
He was an All-NJAC First Team honoree in the 200 fly and was named to the Second Team as a member of the 800 freestyle relay team. Yanagisawa was also named to the Philadelphia Academic All-Area Men’s Swimming Team for the second year in a row.
The CSCAA named 1,206 swimmers and divers to its Scholar All-American Team for the 2021-22 season.
