Atlantic City Police Seeking Murder Suspect

ATLANTIC CITY- An investigation into the fatal stabbing of a 65-year-old man on June 5, 2022, a Sunday afternoon in Atlantic City is continuing by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor William Reynolds announced.

At approximately 2:20 pm, Atlantic City Police received an emergency call for a male down at Unit North block of Kentucky Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ.  The male victim, identified as Dwight Hutchinson, 65, of Atlantic City, was located unresponsive.  Medical personnel arrived but were unable to revive Hutchinson. Hutchinson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

An autopsy was completed by the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office and the cause of death was ruled to be injuries sustained by a stab wound.  The manner of death was determined to be homicide.

This continues to be an active and cooperative investigation between the ACPO Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department.
