Philadelphia Drug Dealers Arrested in Lancaster County

LANCASTER CITY, PA (CNBNewsnet)--The Lancaster County Drug Task Force halted a Philadelphia to Lancaster drug operation with the arrest of two Philadelphia men on May 16.
Jayson Burton, 33 of Locust St., and Paul Clifton, 31 of Pine St., were arrested after being found in possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, over $2,500 in cash, and a pistol.
Drug Task Force Detectives received information that illegal narcotic sales were taking place in Lancaster and an investigation began in May 2021.
At approximately 3:51 p.m. on Monday, May 16, detectives executed a traffic stop on a 2018 Gray Infinity sedan in the 100 block of E. Chestnut St. in Lancaster city; Clifton was operating the vehicle and Burton was a passenger.
Detectives obtained a search warrant and located approximately 149.6 grams of cocaine, 28 grams of methamphetamine, a Glock model 36 .45 caliber handgun, and $2,510 in cash with the help of police K9 Tundra and East Hempfield Township Police Department.
The contraband was found inside an aftermarket, hidden compartment behind the front passenger seat of the vehicle.
Burton and Clifton were each charged with felony counts of possession with intent to distribute cocaine and methamphetamine, criminal conspiracy and carrying a firearm without a license.
Both defendants were arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Bruce Roth; bail was set at $500,000 cash for Burton and $400,000 cash for Clifton.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty.
Detective Aaron McCoy filed charges, which were approved by Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Rall.
