hometown.  If we see litter on our streets, then we think we live in a dirty run-down town.  If we see street people and druggies occupying our main streets, we see a depressed community.  If we see new neighbors move on our block who take no pride in their property and feel they have no responsibility to maintain their property, we as a community and you as a resident are heading towards a dim future.

Reflection of any community is only the reflection of the people who live within it.  Standards must be set and they must be enforced.  Respect your neighbor if they respect you.  Help people who really need help, not people who refuse to help themselves.  Become part of your community.  A little thing like saying “Hello” to a stranger walking down town or picking up a piece of trash on the street can become contagious.  Start using the human voice again instead of your cell phone text messaging.  Treat people the way you want to be treated.

If you don’t think your local governing body is doing a good job, then vote them out of office!  We are all “Americans”.  We are not Afro-Americans, Latin Americans, White Americans.  We are Americans first who live in the best country in the world that gives you the freedom to do what you want to do and be what you want to be!

Again, you will spend 70% of your life in your community.  What you like about it, keep….What you don’t like about it, change.  Get involved!
