College Baseball: Rowan Over Rutgers-Camden 2-1

CAMDEN, NJ – Ryan Murphy accounted for both runs, as #7 Rowan scored a 2-1 victory at Rutgers-Camden, in NJAC baseball action this afternoon, and Ryan Mostrangeli drove in the winning run.
 
Profs' lefthander Eli Atiya went eight innings, striking out eight, to earn his seventh victory of the year as Rowan improves to 23-6 (9-2 NJAC).
 
Murphy hit his team-high eighth home run in the third inning, a solo shot, to give the Profs a 1-0 lead. It was his second game in a row with a homer. 
 
Rutgers-Camden (17-15; 4-7), which outhit the Profs, 9-6, tied it up in the fourth on an RBI single by Diego Salazar.
 
In the eighth, Murphy doubled, and with two outs, Mostrangeli doubled to right field to bring home Murphy with the winning run.
 
Christian Bascunan took over in the ninth inning and held the Scarlet Raptors scoreless to pick up his NJAC-leading seventh save of the season.
 
Rowan plays its third game in a row on Friday when it hosts Rutgers-Camden in a single game beginning at 3:30 p.m.
