- After earning the Green Jacket, Scottie Scheffler becomes the highest ever earner per stroke at The Masters.
- Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, two iconic players of the tournament, remain in the top 10.
Prior to this year’s Master tournament, Bookmakers.com analyzed the total earnings of every player to have ever played in the Masters; calculating how much money they have earned per stroke of play.
Through the analysis, Will Zalatoris ranked 1st earning $4,609 per stroke after his impressive 2021 debut, but where does he (and the rest of field) rank now? How have Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy fared after their impressive performances?
Scottie Scheffler now leads the way as Augusta’s highest earner per stroke!

Pushing Will Zalatoris off the top spot is this year’s Masters winner, Scottie Scheffler ($3,567 per shot). Taking home the Green Jacket and a healthy $2.7 million in prize money, Scheffler moves up 84 places into ranking number one. Fortunately, Zalatoris (2nd) didn’t fall too far down the ranking thanks to his impressive T6 finish ($3,204 per shot).
Making up the top five is Len Mattiace ($2,900 per shot) Jordan Spieth ($2,669 per shot) and Tiger Woods ($2,435 per shot).
2022’s Biggest Movers
Whilst Scottie Scheffler made moves up the ranking, other golfers also shared the success. Despite the wobble in his final round, Cameron Smith had a fantastic tournament and moved up nine places from 19th to 10th ($1,616 per shot). Second place, Rory McIlroy was also a big mover, flying up 15 places from 35th to 20th. Thoroughly deserved after a record-breaking final round and incredible bunker shot on the 18th.
Further big movers outside the top 20 were:

- Shane Lowry: 221st to 53rd
- Collin Morikawa: 155th to 35th
- Cameron Champ: 124th to 56th

Scottie Scheffler tops another ranking!
Thanks to shooting a total of 278 and claiming $2.7 million in prize money, Scottie Scheffler’s 2022 Masters tournament becomes the most lucrative per-stroke victory of all time. Pulling in over $9,700 a shot, Scheffler’s 2022 triumph beats all other Green Jacket wins by over $1,200 a shot!

Where do the Masters greatest winners rank?
When it comes to multiple Green Jacket winners, one of the GOATs of the game Tiger Woods tops the leaderboard. Although he places 5th in the overall rankings, with 5 wins in his Masters career, Tiger has an astonishing earnings per stroke of $2,435 – which is a significant amount higher than one of the other golfing greats in Phil Mickelson, who sits in second with an earnings per stroke of $1,793.
