Beef and Beer Benefit to Help Hammonton Volunteer Fireman Domenick Digiovannangelo

Hammonton, NJ - For the last 22 years Domenick DiGiovannangelo has been serving the community as a volunteer firefighter with the Hammonton Fire Screen Shot 2022-04-25 at 20.32.30 Department and the Independent Vol. Fire Co. 2. In addition to his time served with Hammonton, Domenick previously served 15 years with the Winslow Township Fire Department’s Elm Fire Company. Besides serving as a senior firefighter and mentor to many of the younger members, Domenick is currently serving as Assistant Chief of the Hammonton Fire Department.

Earlier this year Domenick was diagnosed with end-stage heart failure and a cancerous tumor for which he is currently undergoing aggressive treatment.

Immediate care will involve the implantation of an LVAD (Left Ventricular Assist Device) and targeted radiation. A heart transplant will occur in the near future after his cancer recovery. As you can imagine this has taken a financial toll on Domenick and his family. His brother firefighters from Hammonton have already started to assist with basic needs and have been in constant contact with Domenick’s wife Michele and his children, two of whom are active firefighters in Hammonton.

On the evening of April 30, 2022 the Hammonton Ind. Vol. Fire Co. 2 and several family friends will be hosting a Beef & Beer benefit to help offset the unexpected cost for his treatment, recovery, and general expenses. This will be a long journey for Domenick, Michele, and the entire family as they will be encountering challenges related to both his heart failure and cancer diagnoses.

The Beef & Beer will be held at 51 N. White Horse Pike in Hammonton from 5pm-9pm, with tickets costing $25 each. The menu will include traditional Beef & Beer offerings in a casual atmosphere among friends, family, and brother and sister firefighters.
