GOOD NEWS: RN Lisa Caudill Presented with DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses
Thursday, March 03, 2022
Lisa Caudill, BSN, RN, a nurse at Jefferson Stratford Hospital’s Emergency Department, was recently honored with a DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. The Deptford resident was presented the award by Nurse Manager Stephanie Maxwell and Senior VP & Chief Nursing Officer Helene Burns. They praised Caudill for putting a patient first who entered the hospital without shoes. Caudill gave the patient an extra pair of her own shoes, after discovering she and the patient wore the same size. Caudill used patience, empathy, and kindness to alleviate this patient’s anxiety.
Part of an international program, DAISY honorees are nominated by patients, family members, and colleagues. DAISY Award winners are chosen following a review of nominations by Jefferson’s Clinical Recognition Committee in New Jersey. The nonprofit DAISY Foundation was established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died in late 1999 from complications of an autoimmune disease. For more information about the DAISY Award, visit www.DAISYfoundation.org.
