Rita Ann Ferry (Beers), of Gloucester City

On January 24, 2022. Of Gloucester City. Born in Borne, MA, she was the daughter of Richard D. Beers and the late Rose S. Beers (Neff). She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister aunt, and friend. Rita is survived by her husband of 22 years, Gregory B. Ferry, and her daughter, RoseMarie Walker (Michael). 7835016_fbsShe is also survived by siblings; Donna Litz (John), Jane Beers, Robert Beers, Richard Beers (Lucy), Marie Fitzpatrick (Tom); stepchildren, Tina Bell (Dave), Steve Ferry (Venus); grandchildren, Ashley (Pat), Brittany; great-granddaughter, Kaylee; nieces and nephews, John Litz, Tim Litz, Jen Beers, Kevin Reid, Scott Reid and her great-nephews, KJ, Mason, David, and Liam.

Rita was a kind soul, who helped anyone in need, and was always there to lend a helping hand. She was an animal advocate, who felt all animals should be helped no matter the type. She enjoyed gardening, reading sewing, and spending time with her family.

She graduated from Deptford High School in 1975 after going to Edgewood until her junior year in high school. She moved to Gloucester City in the 80’s and has called it home ever since. Rita grew up enjoying the great outdoors. She was a bartender in the 1980’s at the Mill House, was an associate at Cumberland Farms on Broadway and then served ”Beers” at Frank’s Place on Jersey Avenue until the late 1990’s. Rita was a long-time employee of Kennedy Hospital working over 30 years in the supply chain at the 3 main campuses.

Honoring Rita’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
