Reprinted from the Gloucester City News April 8, 1982: Five Juvenile Deliquents Rough Up 82-Year-Old Man Gloucester City Resident GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ-- Last Saturday, April 3, an elderly Gloucester City resident was roughed up by five juveniles, four of which were involved in the burglary of John Jeffrey, a warehouse on Charles Street on March 28. Those four, by the way, are still awaiting sentencing for that incident. According to police, the 82 year old man was walking in the area of Monmouth and King streets at around 2:40 p.m. when he was approached by the youths. They attacked him and fled on foot with the fruits of the robbery, $5.70. Their names are being withheld because of their age. NEWARK – Acting Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck announced today that the Division of Consumer Affairs is taking action to address the sale of license plate frames and holders that violate New Jersey law and can result in drivers being pulled over. In a letter to New Jersey motor vehicle dealers, the Division is putting merchants on notice that state law requires all markings on a license plate to be legible or identifiable. According to a recent New Jersey Supreme Court decision, a driver is in violation of the law if their license plate frame or holder conceals or obscures a marking on the plate – like the words “Garden State” or “New Jersey” – so that the marking cannot be reasonably identified. TRENTON, N.J. – A Monmouth County, New Jersey, man with a prior felony conviction was sentenced today to 60 months in prison for illegally possessing a firearm and conspiring to illegally sell firearms, including multiple handguns and a semi-automatic rifle, in and around Monmouth and Ocean counties, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Camden, N.J. – Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in Camden, announced Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez. Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina and Mount Laurel Township Police Chief Stephen Riedener announced that the 31-year man charged yesterday with stealing the vehicle and debit card of a Mount Laurel woman found fatally bludgeoned in her home Wednesday has been charged with her death. Andrew Kramer, of Mantua, was charged last night with Murder (First Degree) and two counts of Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Third Degree and Fourth Degree). Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced that a 26-year-old Willingboro Township woman has been sentenced to an aggregate of 15 years in New Jersey state prison for sexually assaulting a child in her home early last year. Under an agreement with the Prosecutor’s Office, Rachel Karngbaye pled guilty in September 2021 to Sexual Assault (Second Degree) and Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Third Degree). She was sentenced today in Superior Court by the Hon. Philip E. Haines, J.S.C., to a 10-year term for the second-degree charge, for which she must serve 85% before becoming eligible for parole. She received five years for the third-degree charge. The sentences will run consecutively. Karngbaye will also be subject to the provisions of Megan’s Law and parole supervision for life upon release.
