Moving operation necessary for light bulb replacement
(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced temporary shoulder closures on I-295 and Route 42/I-76 Thursday night for lighting repairs in Bellmawr, Camden County. This work was previously scheduled for tonight, but is being postponed until Friday, November 19 due to inclement weather.
NJDOT’s contractor South State, Inc., is scheduled to close the shoulder on I-295 northbound and Route 42 northbound/I-76 westbound at 9 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, November 19 until 5 a.m., Saturday, November 20 to replace light bulbs. In addition, work will take place on the I-76 eastbound Exit 1A shoulder. The work will be done as a moving operation with temporary shoulder closures lasting approximately 20 minutes at each location where light bulbs need to be replaced. In some cases, the right lane may also be closed temporarily if necessary. The work will take place in the following areas:
- I-295 northbound beginning near the Essex Avenue overpass after Exit 26 where the highway splits for I-76 toward Philadelphia/I-295 toward Trenton to just past the Browning Road Bridge
- Route 42 northbound beginning near the Creek Road overpass before Exit 1B to just past the Browning Road Bridge
- I-76 eastbound Exit 1A ramp to I-295 southbound just past the Browning Road Bridge to just past the Essex Road overpass
