Gloucester Lions Roar in City Series

The 2021 City Series was not much of a game as the GHS (9-1) Lions defeated cross town GCHS (0-11) Rams 56 - 0 with a second half running clock. With the win the Lions evened out the series at 23 with one tie.

The game featured Senior Mike Morrell, who sustained a season ending injury two years ago. Morrell #57 a team Captain entered his first action in two season. Morrell lined up as a wide receiver on the first play from scrimmage, With Morrell at receiver, recording setting running back Steven Burkhadt scored his first of four TD's on the day.

Senior running back Burkhardt entered his final game as a Lion with a couple of GHS records in sight.

Burkhardt scored on runs of 2, 46, 40, 56 boosting his school single season record of 36 Touchdowns and a School Career 64 Touchdowns.

The Lions backs rushed for 270 yards and rounding out the scoring was Ibyn Obey and Jake Zearfoss 

During Halftime the Lions '69, '70 and '71 were honored for the 3 year record of 25-0-2
