Route 73 lane and ramp closures required Monday; Waterford Roadway improvement project advances

Closures required for guiderail replacement

(Trenton) – New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced ramp and lane closures at the Route 73/Route 30 interchange as a roadway improvement project advances in Waterford, Camden County.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, November 1 until 5 p.m, NJDOT's contractor, Arawak Paving Co., is scheduled to close the ramp from Route 73 northbound to Route 30 westbound and the ramp from Route 30 eastbound to Route 73 northbound. These closures are required for guiderail replacement work.  In addition to the ramp closures, the left lane on Route 73 southbound and the acceleration lane on Route 73 northbound will be closed near the interchange during the same hours. Motorists are advised to follow the signed detours which will be in place.

The work is part of an $8.5 million federally-funded project to resurface approximately seven miles of Route 73 in Camden County.  The project also includes curb, sidewalk improvements and traffic signal upgrades.

The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors. Motorists are encouraged to check NJDOT’s traffic information website www.511nj.org for construction updates and real-time travel information and for NJDOT news follow us on Twitter @NewJerseyDOT or on the NJDOT Facebook page.
