How cannabis consumption has evolved

Marijuana legalization has been a hot topic of debate for many years. With more and more states legalizing the drug, there has been an increase in consumption and a demand for varied consumption methods. Marijuana can be used as medicine for chronic pain, nausea, anxiety, or even mental disorders like PTSD. It also may help with sleep deprivation and eating disorders. Aside from this, marijuana has been used for many years recreationally. Because of this, many new consumption methods have arisen, and many trends related to consumption methods are being seen. If you are curious about these consumption methods or would like to know how marijuana consumption has evolved past using a bong, here are a few ways.

Consumption anywhere

If there is one product on the marijuana market that has increased in popularity over the last few years then it would have to be the vape pen or dry herb vaporizer pen. These devices could arguably be at the forefront of technology used by consumers in the marijuana industry. There are mainly two devices that are used when referring to vape pens; those that use concentrate and those that use dry herbs.

Those that use herbs are typically more expensive, but allow users to use the particular herb strain of their choice, while also allowing them to consume on the go. Devices that use concentrates are generally cheaper and are divided into two groups; wax vape pens and oil vape pens. Both of the concentrate vape pens allow users to consume more potent amounts of THC than the dry herb vape pen.

Using concentrates

As mentioned above, using marijuana concentrate has become quite popular recently, since it allows users to consume more potent amounts that would be the equivalent of a lot of dry herbs. Unfortunately, one of the drawbacks of the vape pen is that it has a limited battery, and a small chamber, which means they need to be charged more often or need to be replaced more often. This is why dab rigs were created.

Dab rigs look very similar to bongs, but instead of using dry herbs, they use marijuana concentrate which is heated using a nail. Vapor is then created which is inhaled. This method has gained popularity since it is convenient for sharing with a group, and more than that, mini dab rigs like these, available at the Daily High Club, have been created to allow users to consume on the go.

Drops

Another marijuana consumption method that has proved to be very popular for those who don’t want to smoke or vape marijuana is cannabis tinctures. A cannabis tincture is concentrated marijuana, that varies in potency, which is applied under the tongue. Tinctures are a popular choice for those consuming for medical purposes since the dosages can be accurately measured. Tinctures work faster than edibles and effects can be felt within 15-45 minutes and typically last around 4 hours, which is great for those who need quick relief for pain over a longer period.

Eating your cannabis

Another consumption method that is seeing a trend in the marijuana industry is the marijuana edible. Edibles have of course been popular for a very long time, but it is only since legalization that the consumption method has become mainstream. Edibles typically came in the form of cookies, lollipops, gummies, or brownies, but since legalization, they are now found in the form of any sort of pastry, cake, and more.

One of the reasons edibles have become so popular is because they allow users to consume marijuana without smoking or vaping it. Aside from this, like the rest of the methods above, they allow users to consume a large amount of THC without needing to smoke or vape a large amount of herb.

Rub it on your skin

For those consumers who would like to experience the benefits that marijuana provides, such as a relief from pain, but don’t want to eat, smoke, or vape it, there are topicals. Topicals have been a great alternative for those who don’t want to consume marijuana orally since those that use topicals don’t experience any psychoactive effects. Marijuana topicals are applied directly to the skin over the affected area. Since marijuana is great for inflammation, it provides pain relief within 5 to 20 minutes.
