On October 10, 2021, Giselda T. Lobascio (nee DiClaudio), age 92 of Audubon, passed away of natural causes. She was born in 1929 in Castelli, Italy and moved to Camden, NJ as a child where she was raised. She met and married her husband of 73 years, Vincent Lobascio, a World War II veteran, in 1947. Vincent predeceased her in November of 2020. She had their first child, Louis, in 1951 who passed away from brain cancer in 1956. She deeply loved her three surviving children, Vincent Jr., Jean (Mike) and Lorraine (Jim); her three grandchildren, Jennifer (Ed), Carolynn (Bobby) and James Jr.; her great grandchildren, Madison, Evan and RJ along with her sister, Anita DeFino. She was also predeceased by her sister, Esther and her three brothers, Umberto "Al", Raymond and Ralph.
She worked at JC Penney for 23 years, retiring in 1989. She was a very devout Catholic who faithfully attended St. Rose of Lima Church in Haddon Heights. She surrounded herself with many pictures and statues of Jesus, Mary and her favorite saints, St. Anthony of Padua and St. Therese "The Little Flower" of Lisieux. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed making big Italian meals for her family. She loved going to the casinos, watching her favorite retro TV shows and religious programs, and doing word search puzzles.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Monday, October 18th at 10:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 4th Avenue and Kings Highway, Haddon Heights where Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Joseph's House of Camden, 555 Atlantic Avenue, Camden, NJ 08105 or at www.jhoc.org.
