Edwin James Lafferty of Woodbury, Founder of New Sharon Fire Company

On October 22, 2021. Age 65. Of Woodbury. Loving husband of 40 years to Jean Lafferty (nee Stout). Loving father of Colin and Chase Lafferty. Beloved brother of Patrick Lafferty (Marie), Robert Lafferty and Anthony Lafferty (Cathy). Predeceased by his parents, Anthony W. Lafferty and Evelyn Lafferty (nee Brynan). Also survived by his father-in-law, Raymond E. Stout, Jr. and sister-in-laws, Jill Pippet and Janet Goulet. Also survived by his loving nieces and nephews, who he always loved spending time with.
Jim started his fire service with New Sharon Fire Company in Deptford in 1981. He has been a proud member of Brooklawn Fire Company #344 for more than 10 years, where he was currently serving as assistant chief. Jim was a Life Member of the Camden County Firemen’s Association. He enjoyed the time spent with the Boyscouts of Troop 295 and the Brooklawn Fire Dept Explorers.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Friday morning, October 29th from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at the Brooklawn Fire Company #344, 100 S. Wilson Ave., Brooklawn. Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Interment will be private. For the health and safety of all in attendance, please wear a mask or facial covering while in the firehouse for the viewing and service.
