DINOSAUR MADNESS TAKES OVER HADDONFIELD DURING TWO-WEEK HALLOWEEN FESTIVITIES

Haddyween Celebrates New Jersey Town’s Iconic Hadrosaurus Dinosaur Sculpture

Haddonfield, NJ (October 8, 2021) – For two weeks leading up to Halloween, Haddonfield is going prehistoric. Expect dinosaurs wandering the charming downtown streets, a window decorating contest at local businesses, contests, giveaways, and plenty of family fun.

Haddyween, now in its second year, is inspired by John Giannotti's Hadrosaurus foulkii sculpture “Haddy” located near Kings Highway and Chestnut Street. It’s based on an important dinosaur skeleton that was unearthed in October 1858, right in Haddonfield.

“This October marks 163 years since the Hadrosaurus skeleton was discovered here in Haddonfield,” says Bob Hochgertel, an Open South Jersey partner and owner of King’s Road Brewing Company, who helped create Haddyween. “We’re so proud of the Haddy sculpture and happy to welcome everyone into downtown Haddonfield for shopping and fun on these crisp fall days.”

The event runs October 15 through October 31, a window that includes Haddonfield’s Halloween parade on October 30 and Halloween itself.

The public is invited to vote in the window decorating contest -- voting offers the chance to win gift cards from the participating businesses.
