COLLEGE VOLLEYBALL: Rowan Secures Top Playoff Seed

GLASSBORO, NJ -- Rowan secured the top playoff seed and had a personal milestone hit as the Profs took down Ramapo, 3-0 (25-13, 25-16, 25-10), Tuesday night in NJAC action at Esbjornson Gymnasium.

With the win, the Profs are now the #1 seed in the NJAC Tournament and will have home-court advantage throughout and earn a bye into the semifinal round.

Libero Simone Sparano picked up a big career achievement in notching her 1,000th career dig. Needing six entering the evening, the milestone happened in the third set. She finished the night with eight and also added a pair of aces. In total, the team racked up 14 aces, making it their eighth match this season with 10 or more team aces. Jackie Camponelli and Cassidy Abdalla each served up three.

In the kill department, Brianna Newson totaled 10, Natalie Ogden had nine, and Courtney Rhoden put down eight as the squad hit .357 on 84 attempts (40 kills/10 errors).

Grace Kim had five kills for the Roadrunners, while she and three others each had five digs.

Rowan will head to DeSales on Friday in start of a quad match over the weekend. The team starts with Messiah on Friday evening before matches with SUNY-Canton and the host Bulldogs on Saturday.
