UPPER MONTCLAIR, NJ (Oct. 24, 2021)-- – Montclair State snapped Rowan's five-game win streak with a 2-1 decision Saturday in a New Jersey Athletic Conference game.
Cassidy McErlain scored for the Profs, her third on the season, in the first half off an assist from Aiden Sheehan. The goal came in the 32nd minute and knotted both teams at 1-1 into the half.
Montclair State's Catherine Carnevale put the home team ahead six minutes into the second. Rowan looked to threaten in the 81st minute as Jessica Logan's shot got behind MSU goalie Haley Martin but was cleared out by the defense.
Martin finished with six saves. Rowan keeper Bristol Pizzuto was in net for the duration of the game, seeing nine Montclair shots.
The team will close out its regular season on Wednesday when Rutgers-Camden visits in a 6 p.m. start. The Profs are still in the hunt for a first-round bye as one of the top two playoff seeds.
