Peter A. Garcia, Succumbs at Age 60; Mt. Ephraim Commissioner, Florio Aide

Peter A. Garcia of Mount Ephraim, passed away on August 3, 2021 at the age of 60 from complications

following surgery.

He was predeceased by his father Orlando Garcia. He is survived by his wife Dianne; his children, Jacob and Isabella; his mother Cecilia Garcia; and his brother Steven (Sue).

In 1995 Mr. Garcia, was elected to the Mt. Ephraim  Board of Commissioners. He was a U.S. Army Reserve Colonel,  and was an intern on Rep. Jim Florio’s congressional staff in 1979. He worked as a district office aide in the 1980s, and became an assistant counsel after Florio was elected governor.  He later served as a deputy state public defender under Republican Gov. Christine Todd Whitman and as deputy attorney general in the casino investigation section.

He was elected to the Gloucester Township Board of Education in 1985.

Visitation was held on Monday, August 16th 2021 at the St. Rose of Lima R. C. Church (300 E Kings Hwy, Haddon Heights, NJ 08035). A mass was held on Monday, August 16th 2021 at 7:00 PM at the same location.
