Community Events #2

Each September, which is Hunger Action Month, the Stamp Out Hunger 5k gathers hundreds of walkers, weekend joggers, and competitive runners on Labor Day for a morning of fun and exercise to raise money to support the food insecure in the South Jersey area.  To date, the event has donated over $115,000 to the Food Bank of South Jersey, local food pantries, after-school programs, senior centers and other hunger-fighting groups that support South Jersey communities

“Our Stamp Out Hunger race has grown over the past six years in increased participation and increased awareness of our hunger-fighting cause,” said Renee Zallie, race director. “The overwhelming generosity of sponsors and customers has allowed us to broaden the impact we have on fighting hunger right here in our region. The covid-19 pandemic has made food insecurity a more pressing and widespread issue. We know that we have a long way to go in this fight and are dedicated to prioritizing our race efforts to support ShopRite’s Partners In Caring initiative.”

The Stamp Out Hunger 5k donates all race registration fees directly to The Food Bank of South Jersey, while proceeds from event sponsorships will go to the ShopRite Partners In Caring Fund.

Visit stampouthunger5k.com to register, find race details and view aerial footage of the course. Entry fees are $30 for the 5K, $25 for teams of three or more, and $12 for the 1-miler with pre-registration by Sunday, Sept 5.
