NJ News Commons: NJ HAS DISMISSED 88K CANNABIS CASES UNDER NEW LAW

About 360,000 people across the state are eligible to have their cannabis cases expunged — that is, to permanently remove it from public record. On Monday, the state Judiciary announced that 88,000 have been processed so far. Vacated and dismissed cases will be next, over the next few months. (NJ.com)
 

NJ GRANTS DIGITAL ACCESS TO COVID VACCINE RECORDS

 
The New Jersey Immunization Information System has enlisted Docket Health to help you access your own COVID-19 immunization record. Docket is an app you can download on your phone — and it's not a vaccine passport like Excelsior Pass in New York. "Docket is solely intended to give residents easy access to their COVID vaccination record ... especially if their vaccination card has been damaged or lost," Gov. Phil Murphy said. NEW MUSEUM IN NEWARK HIGHLIGHTS PUBLIC SAFETY

DELTA VARIANT IS NOW DOMINANT COVID-19 STRAIN IN NJ


The delta variant of the coronavirus is now the most common strain in New Jersey. According to the state's COVID-19 data report on June 26th, 40.7% of cases are due to the delta strain, which is significantly more than the alpha strain, at 30.6%. The week before, 26.8% of COVID cases statewide were from the delta strain, which was less than the alpha strain, at 40%. (NorthJersey)
