Gloucester Heights Residents Beware of Vehicle Burglaries in your Area; Catalytic Converters Hot Item for Thieves

 
 

GLOUCESTER CITY, NJ (July 8, 2021)--The Gloucester City Police Department released the following alert regarding vehicle burglaries in the Gloucester Heights section of the City.

We've experienced over (10) vehicle burglaries/attempted vehicle burglaries, during the early morning hours of 07/07/21, at the following locations:

  • Oxford Avenue

  • Lehigh Avenue

  • Princeton Avenue

During the same time period, there was a stolen vehicle on Yale Avenue. The vehicle was recovered in Camden City.

The successful vehicle burglaries, and stolen vehicle, occurred to unlocked vehicles. The keys to the stolen vehicle were left inside. We urge our residents to lock their vehicle doors at all times when the vehicle is unattended, and never leave your keys inside your unlocked vehicle.

We are asking anyone with security cameras in those areas to check the videos for suspicious individuals. The time period is around 1:00 am. Please contact the GCPD Detective Bureau (856-456-7797) with any information.

BE ALERT THIEVES ARE TARGETING CATALYTIC CONVERTERS

The police also alerted residents throughout the City that thieves are stealing catalytic converters.

In the early morning hours of 07/07/21, there was a theft of a catalytic converter and an attempted theft of a catalytic converter in the area of Brick Street and Stinsman Avenue.
