Camden Detectives Investigating a Shooting/Homicide of two men

Camden, N.J. – Detectives are investigating the Friday morning homicide of one man and shooting of a second man, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Metro Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Police responded to a multiple round shot spotter activation in the area of the 1100 block of Baring Street around 9:45 a.m., Friday, July 2. When they arrived, they located the victim, Darrell Lopez, 31, of Camden, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Lopez was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced deceased.

A second victim, a 50-year-old, African American male, arrived a short time later at an area hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.
