Combating Addiction

R.E.A.L. Hosts Multiple Athletic Events Throughout the Year Including Golf, Yoga and More
 

Camden County Commissioner Al Dyer joined a group of individuals in addiction recovery for golf lessons at the Camden County Golf Academy. The Commissioner Board’s Addiction Awareness Task Force hosts Recovery Encouragement Athletic Leagues (R.E.A.L.) like this to support individuals combating addiction.

“R.E.A.L. Golf is about giving folks in recovery something healthy that they can focus their mind, body, and energy on,” Dyer said. “In addition to golf, we host R.E.A.L. yoga and other athletic leagues throughout the year. Our goal is to help make the recovery process a little bit smoother, and to help guide these individuals into a healthier, sustainable lifestyle.” The next R.E.A.L. Yoga Session is June 29th. Join a Guided Paddle Tour on July 1st

A guided introduction to paddling on the Cooper River. In a small group setting participants will learn the basics of kayaking under the guidance of a certified instructor and the Camden County Environmental Educator. All equipment is provided by the Camden County Department of Parks. Classes will launch out of the Cooper River Yacht Club in Collingswood and will be 1.5-2 hours. Click here to learn more.

Spend Your 4th of July on the Waterfront

View the July 4th Freedom Festival fireworks from the Battleship NJ. Tickets are a $10 donation per person and proceeds go to the on-going restoration of the Battleship, a non-profit museum and memorial. The Battleship will open her decks at 7 PM. The fireworks shows are projected to begin at 9:30 PM. Music, food concessions and a cash bar for adults will be available. Guests can bring blankets to sit on the deck.
