Rowan's Murphy, McIsaac, Atiya Named to Annual D3baseball.com All-American Team

GLASSBORO, NJ – Rowan’s Ryan Murphy (Reading, PA/Wilson), Ryan McIsaac (Millville, NJ/Millville) and Eli Atiya (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill) have been named to the 13th annual D3baseball.com All-America team, as the World-Series bound Profs joined a select list of players selected from more than 800 nominated. 


Murphy, a junior right fielder, was named the All-America Third Team in his first year with the Profs. One of Rowan’s top hitters all season, he is now batting .393 with team-highs of 35 RBI, a .693 slugging percentage and nine home runs, which includes two grand slams. He has also been named the ABCA All-Region First Team and the All-NJAC First Team this season. 


McIsaac received Honorable Mention on the All-America Team as he helped pace the Rowan offense with his team-high .409 batting average, as well as 61 hits,16 doubles and 96 total bases. The senior designated hitter/third baseman has hit five home runs this year and recently set the Rowan record for a consecutive game hitting streak (30). McIsaac was also a First Team selection to both the ABCA All-Region and All-NJAC Teams, while being named to the NCAA Marietta Regional All-Tournament Team. 


Atiya also received All-America Honorable Mention as a starting pitcher. The sophomore lefthander is 9-1 in 10 appearances on the mound for the Profs and tops the pitching staff in strikeouts with 66. He has maintained a 1.73 ERA, which is second best among the starters, and has limited the opponents to a .221 batting average. Atiya was named to the All-Region First Team and the All-NJAC First Team and was also named to the NCAA Marietta Regional All-Tournament Team. 


Rowan (29-4) begins its quest for the national championship on Friday, June 4 when it takes on Wheaton (MA) in the NCAA Division III World Series at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids, IA. First pitch is set for 5:30 p.m. Eastern (4:30 p.m. local).
