Best Travel Destinations in Europe For Families

If you’re wondering where to go with your kids this summer, then look no further than Europe. As a family, foreign trips should be educational, fun, and entertaining. Europe has all these things to offer and much more. Families that enjoy traveling together and seeing places should opt for at least three to four destinations in Europe.

While traveling from one country to another, there are several things you should be careful of like, passports, visas, travel insurance, and other critical documentation. To ensure you have everything in order, you should consult with iasservices from Leeds and get all the paperwork sorted before your travel date.

While there are plenty of places you can visit in Europe, not all are family-friendly. We have compiled a list of the best travel destinations in Europe for families to help you make an informed choice. This list is not exhaustive but has a few places that we are sure your family and kids will enjoy visiting.

Sweden:

Sweden is one of the nicest places in Europe to travel with kids – especially Stockholm. Sweden has gorgeous countryside with gardens, parks, stroller-friendly destinations, and events happening all the time. There are museums, galleries, zoos, amusement parks, and loads of other places that are fun and have educational value to children.

When you’re in Stockholm, you should book the Stockholm Land and Water tour and book a day out at the Stockholm Zoo. The Vasa Museum has the remains of a capsized ship (in case your kids are interested). You should also visit Djurgarden Island for a fun family day out. Since many people in Sweden speak English, you will not face a language barrier and can easily communicate with everyone.

Austria:

Austria is an excellent country for families with children. The Austrian countryside is one of the most picturesque in Europe and is known for its clean air and crisp weather. Austria has one of the oldest amusement parks in the world and a great dinosaur park. The mountainside is beautiful and rugged, with snow-capped Alpine peaks, baroque-style architecture, and exciting history.

You should take the family to visit Vienna to the Schonbrunn Palace. This palace has a maze and a zoo for non-stop entertainment. The ZOOM children’s museum always has excellent exhibits and events happening all year round. For families that enjoy learning and studying about nature, the Haus des Meeres has a wide variety of flora and fauna.

Croatia:

Croatia is the feather in the European cap. Not many people know Croatia as a beautiful family holiday destination. The best time to visit Croatia is June to September when the weather is gorgeous and not overly crowded. Croatians are warm, friendly people with strong familial and cultural values. They are incredibly welcoming people that enjoy hosting families.

Croatia is known for its easy hiking trails and safe beaches. There are interactive museums, Krka waterfalls in Split, and the famous Blue Cave. In Dubrovnik, you can see the underwater caves from a sea kayak and discover beautiful marine life.

Belgium:

Any family that loves waffles is going to fall in love with Belgium. Belgium is known for its gastronomical delights and welcoming culture. The train system in Belgium is excellent, and most families prefer using the trains as they are convenient to travel with children of all ages.

If you’re in Brussels, you should take the kids to see the Grand Palace and Tintin Boutique (Yes, Tintin as in comic book stores). Your kids can also participate in a chocolate-making workshop and have some fun. If you decide to visit Bruges, you must see the 3D Sculpture of Musea (it was produced by 40 incredible artists). The best part about Bruges? It has a French Fry Museum!

Denmark:

Denmark has countless theme parks, zoos, amusement parks, and kid-friendly beaches with lifeguards that make it one of the best family holiday destinations in Europe. The public transport is highly child-friendly and is affordable too. The locals are very welcoming of families with children, and they take great joy in sharing stories of cultural importance with kids eager to learn.

When you’re in Denmark, you must visit Copenhagen. You can spend an entire day at the Tivoli Gardens and play an escape room challenge as part of a maze. Apart from entertainment, Copenhagen also has beautiful parks, gardens, and theatres to keep children occupied and happy. If you’re in Odense, you must take the children to Odense Zoo and walk the charming streets while eating the local food.
