Daytime right lane closure necessary for attenuator repair
(Trenton) - New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) officials today announced the daytime closure of the right lane on I-295 southbound before the ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound as the Direct Connection project advances in Bellmawr, Camden County.
Beginning at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, May 21 until 2 p.m., NJDOT’s contractor, South State, Inc., will close the right lane on I-295 southbound after Exit 28/Route 168 through the Browning Road overpass. The single lane closure includes the ramp to Route 42 southbound and I-295 southbound, also known as Al-Jo's Curve, and will allow repairs to be made to a crash attenuator.
Portable variable message signs are being utilized to provide advance notification to the public of all traffic pattern changes associated with the work. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
