Camden City Woman Found Dead in her Home, Investigation Ongoing

Camden City, N.J. – Detectives are investigating the homicide of a woman found inside her Camden home on Monday, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.

Police responded to a home on the 1000 block of S. 6th St. around 8:45 a.m. on May 10 for a report of a woman found unresponsive. When they arrived, officers discovered Tonia Yamileth, 25, of Camden, in an upstairs bedroom with a visible injury to her neck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

On May 11, the Camden County Medical Examiner ruled Yamileth’s Cause of Death as a stab wound and blunt force trauma to the neck and her Manner of Death as a homicide.

Detectives are working to determine the circumstances surrounding her death and who is responsible.
