Washington Politics: Sherrill Should Have Voted to Censure Maxine Waters

Sherrill Proves Again She Puts Party First Over National Interest

Lake Hiawatha, NJ/April 22, 2021 – Today, Hillery Brotschol, Republican Congressional candidate for New Jersey’s 11th Congressional District condemned Democrat Mikie Sherrill for voting against censuring California Congresswoman Maxine Waters.  Waters at protests for Daunte Wright this weekend said, “We’ve got to stay on the street, and we’ve got to get more active, we’ve got to get more confrontational. We’ve got to make sure that they know that we mean business.”  Just hours later two National Guardsmen were shot at.

Brotschol noted that Sherrill previously had charged Republican colleagues of showing rioters around the Capitol days before the January 6th riots and demanded expulsions.  Sherrill has yet to provide proof of this ever happening nor named which Republicans she saw doing this. Sherrill also voted for the second impeachment of Donald Trump saying his words incited the January 6th violence and based upon that alone Trump was a danger to the nation and must be impeached.  Brotschol said under Sherrill’s own standards, Waters should have been censured, yet Sherrill as always voted the straight Party line rather than put the nation’s interests first.

“Mikie Sherrill seems to have two sets of rules, one that she applies for Democrats and one for everyone else,” said Hillery Brotschol.  “Based upon her own words in interviews and on the House floor, she should have voted to censure Maxine Waters at the very least for her incitement for violence.  Yet when given the chance, Mikie Sherrill did what she always does, vote the Party line.”

“Mikie Sherrill ran in 2018 promising that she was a different type of Democrat and would never vote straight Party line, yet again and again, she shows that she puts the interests of the Democratic Party first and those of the nation and the 11th District last,” continued Brotschol.  “The 11th District needs a Representative who will work for them, reflect and stand up for their values.  Not one like Sherrill who is beholden to the DC swamp and forgets her District as this vote showed.”

Brotschol Background

Hillery Brotschol is the new generation of young Republicans committed to fighting to preserve our Constitution and stop the progressive socialist movement.  She has often been called the “Good Hillery.”

Hillery is a lifelong resident of Morris County and a graduate of Montclair State University. Her unique background, which can attract young voters, includes being an award-winning screenwriter, film producer, and a proud union member.

Like Ronald Reagan, Hillery spent most of her adult life as a registered Democrat and realized that the Democratic Party left her and that they are a party of special interest groups and socialist progressives.

Hillery is running for office because she refuses to allow the people of the 11th District to be bullied into silence and submission by a Congress that does nothing but vilify those who dare to disagree.
