Struggling with Stress: How to Cope



It has been a particularly challenging time to be alive this past year, which is why it is not surprising that so many people are suffering from copious amounts of stress. However, it is important to remember that stress is a common feeling and a normal part of life, as long as it does not take over your life.

Write Things Down

A good way to identify why you are feeling stressed is by writing out your thoughts and feelings onto paper. This way, you are letting go of anything that may be concerning you or worrying you, and in doing so, you are reducing any pressure you may be feeling.

Once you have written everything down, you should burn the piece of paper or scrunch it up and throw it into the trash to get rid of any thoughts that no longer serve you.

Take Time Out

Everyone needs time to themselves every now and then, particularly if you work full time and have a busy family lifestyle. If you are so used to putting everybody else first before yourself, you may have difficulty taking a break. 

Remember that stress can gradually build up until it suddenly feels unbearable, which can be scary.
