Mega-site partners encourage schools & community groups to organize group vaccination campaigns
(MOORESTOWN, N.J.) On Wednesday, April 28, the Burlington County COVID-19 Vaccine Mega-Site will welcome students of Eastern Regional High School (ages 16 and older), as well as parents, teachers, and staff. Working with Virtua Health, the school district has signed up more than 100 members of its community to be vaccinated at the Moorestown Mall site that morning.
“We want our school to be a safe haven in every sense, and that means helping all eligible people receive the COVID-19 vaccine,” said Robert Cloutier, superintendent of the Eastern Camden County Regional School District.
“Spring is an exciting time for our school community; we have concerts, athletic events, prom, and graduation,” said Susan Roth, director of special services for the district. “We want to enjoy these moments and make them as safe as possible, which is why we encourage everyone to get vaccinated.”
Virtua Health, the health care partner for the Burlington County Mega-Site, invites schools, houses of worship, and other community entities to schedule group vaccination opportunities for their constituents. To schedule a group vaccination event, send an introductory email to [email protected].
“If any subset of our community wants support organizing COVID-19 vaccines for large groups, Virtua wants to help,” said Dr. Reg Blaber, executive vice president and chief clinical officer for Virtua Health. “We have appointment availability at the mega-site, and will be glad to welcome you.”
