A Beginners Guide To Vape Mods

Whether you’re new to vaping, or a regular, if you haven’t tried vape mods, you’re in for a treat. Vape mods are essentially an advanced vaping technology, one that allows users to enjoy their favorite e-juices, while at the same time offering the opportunity to customize the experience. Here’s what you need to know.

What Are Vape Mods?

Vape Mods are larger than e-cigarettes, produce a higher volume of vapor and they are more advanced – hence the term “mods” or modified. They have longer-lasting and larger batteries than vape pens, and they’re more versatile – you can change battery types, atomizers, and tanks.

There are four main types. Box mods are, as the name suggests, in the shape of a box. They are larger than your average e-cig and generally have a larger battery if included, and adjustable settings. Some types also have a removable battery. Slimline mods are the same as box mods, but smaller. There are no removable batteries, however, they do have adjustable settings.

Mechanical mods operate on a mechanical function, without internal electrical components. They’re tube-shaped and made from metal. They hold a large battery and by pushing a button, you can move the battery up and down to connect. And squonk mods are a niche type of mod, that combine all other types in one – they have a battery, e-liquid bottle, and dripper.

What To Look For When Buying Vape Mods

There are a few things you should take note of when buying your first vape mod. To start with, check the temperature control to ensure it suits the type of atomizer you’re planning to use (read below for more details). See if it has adjustable power – can you control the wattage for a more (or less) intense vape? Can you easily change the atomizer if you want to try something different? And what is the end experience? Is the vapor smooth, how does it taste, and is the vape easy to handle? You could also take into account the design and style of the vape, whether it lights up and fits in your pocket, and of course, the price. You should also read online reviews to see what other people think before making a decision.

How Vape Mods Work

Essentially, the battery inside the vape mods heats up a coil that’s located inside an atomizer. Once these coils are heated, the vapor is produced. Once you’ve chosen your vape mod, here’s a step-by-step for what you need to do:

Step One: Start by selecting the right atomizer. Dry Herb Atomizers are designed for the combustion of dry herbs; Wax Atomizers require melting of the wax at a high temperature; Oil Atomizers are refillable tanks designed to vaporize oil; and E-Juice Atomizers are the most common attachment, generating the biggest vapor clouds. Remember that you can’t mix and match – so if you choose a wax atomizer, you can’t use oil in it.

Step Two: Make sure the vape mod is fully charged, particularly the first time you use it. Some of these systems come with a micro-USB charging port, while others have removable batteries. Check the instructions to see what you need to do. It’ll take about 2-3 hours on average for the vape to fully charge.

Step Three: Once fully charged, attach the atomizer. Be careful you don’t fix it in place too tightly as this can be a hazard. Read the instructions.

Step Four: Turn it on. Your vape mod will have a button to turn it on and an LED display will light up to show you that it’s working. Enjoy!

Essentially, vape mods are more advanced than other vapes, which gives users control over the experience, allowing for a more intense delivery. Do your research, try a few options, and see what suits you the best.
