Polistina Says Mazzeo Should Apologize
Friday, March 26, 2021
March 26, 2021 - Former Assemblyman and successful small businessman Vince Polistina today challenged incumbent Assemblyman Vince Mazzeo to follow the lead of Democratic Senate President Steve Sweeney and apologize for his vote to approve $4.2 billion in what turned out to be unnecessary borrowing, made worse by the fact that the debt was non-callable.
"Given that Assemblyman Mazzeo is a reliable rubber stamp for party bosses, I don't see why this would be any different," said Polistina. "Just like Senate President Sweeney did yesterday, Assemblyman Mazzeo should apologize for his fiscally irresponsible vote to borrow over $4 billion dollars that the state ultimately never needed. You don't need to be a financial expert to figure this out. What Assemblyman Mazzeo did amounts to paying your mortgage on a credit card when you had cash in the bank. With moves like that from our Assemblyman, it's no wonder the State of New Jersey is a slippery slope to financial ruin."
