2 Camden City Residents Charged in February Fatal Shooting
Happenings in Camden County

Hello Friends of HFC,

It is Women's History Month and we wanted to showcase one of our programs that has gone above and beyond to meet the needs of our community during the pandemic.

Our Hispanic Women's Resource Center has provided Hispanic women in Camden County with workforce development services since 1987, with the support of the NJ Division on Women and Latino Action Network Foundation.

During the pandemic, Hispanic women were deeply impacted during the Coronavirus pandemic, especially in the area of safe, sustainable employment. We are serving women who lost the jobs due to the pandemic, women who are returning to the workforce to after many years to support their family, and women who are making career changes.

Each program participant receives individualized Career Action Plan and one-on-one case management support to reach their employment goals. Women can learn how to complete an online job application, participate in mock interviews, brush up on their computer skills, and much more!

What is a Hispanic Women's Resource Center?

Our Hispanic Women's Resource Center provides services that help enhance the workforce development skills needed to increase the employability of Hispanic women. The target population of the Hispanic Women's Centers are persons identifying as women who are of Spanish or Latin American culture, with origins in Mexico, South or Central America, or the Caribbean Islands. Programs are designed to enhance the employability and earnings of women and impact on the quality of their lives and those of their families. The Centers focus on helping customers gain workforce development skills including, but not limited to, English language classes, job readiness preparation and training which includes resume preparation, interviewing skills, and computer training. The Centers and programs emphasize activities which provide training and other employment related services which are designed to enhance the employability and earnings of Hispanic women and impact on the quality of their lives and those of their families. The centers help to identify existing job opportunities for women and assist those women who utilize the centers in obtaining employment.
