Lebanon Valley College's Nadia Deetz Earns Academic Award

ANNVILLE, PA (03/23/2021)-- Lebanon Valley College's Nadia Deetz of Gloucester City, N.J., was one of 20 field hockey student-athletes to earn a spot on the 2021 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division III National Academic Squad. Additionally, as a team, LVC earned the academic team award.

Deetz, a graduate of Gloucester City Jr-Sr High School, is pursuing a bachelor of science in digital communications.

The organization's DIII national academic squad program recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher throughout the first semester of the 2020-21 academic year.

More than 2,000 student-athletes from 140 Division III institutions earned recognition on the 2021 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA DIII National Academic Squad, 107 more than last year when 1,943 student-athletes garnered recognition.

As a team, the Dutchmen earned the Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA National Academic Team Award for maintaining a team GPA of 3.0 higher during the fall.

Allison Bimmer Recognized as LVC Student-Athlete

ANNVILLE, PA (03/26/2021)-- Allison Bimmer of Maple Shade, N.J., competed for the Flying Dutchmen during the Winter 2020-2021 sports season. Bimmer, a graduate of Maple Shade High School, is pursuing a bachelor of arts in criminal justice at The Valley.

Bimmer was a member of the women's basketball team. The women's basketball team wrapped up a shortened 2021 season with a 3-8 record. Emily Mealey finished her illustrious Dutchmen career finishing third all-time in program history with 1,301 points while also grabbing 851 career rebounds. She was both the team's leading scorer and rebounder for the third season in a row finishing at 17.5 points and 12.4 rebounds per game. Kennedy Kuffa was another bright spot for LVC as the sophomore guard averaged over 13 points and seven rebounds a game while scoring in double-figures nine times, including a career-high 25 points against Alvernia, and also recording two double-doubles.

A member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III, American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), Lebanon Valley College offers 26 sports.
